that services.msc doesnt work for me. is it cuz i aint got PRO

it should work, i got home edition and it works for me,
edit: you may have to have admin privelages???

Services.msc works for me and im on XP home.I think gpedit.msc does the same function on XP pro.

yerh thats right-i did what dap..... said and it cocked up my PC big style-anyway sorted now with the other services explanation

It actually is very simple
on the MSN menu click TOOLS---> then OPTIONS ---> then click on GENERAL tab and uncheck the Display MSN today when Messenger signs in.
Make sure it is blank and not checked and then click OK ... that should stop that annoying banner from coming up. Hope this helps!!!
