Azureus 2.5.0.4. I like the interface and options much more than on any other client. I must admit I am beginning to follow Halite with interest though, but until now I haven't even tried it because of lack of options.

BTW only WildBytes bans the use of Azureus 2.5.0.4 as of now I think. Hopefully noone will follow suit.

utorrent 1.7.6 = easy install, less cpu/ram consumption, has all functions of a good client, accepted on all trackers, what else do you want?

Unfortunately 1.7.6 isn't accepted at all trackers due to the 1.7.7 version that just came out.

To give the answer you're looking for:
uTorrent seems to be the most lightweight and efficient bittorrent client. This is why it is preferred over Azureus. It is relatively easy to configure and reconfigure, and settings are relatively simple. Azureus takes up much more memory than uTorrent, but it has features (although not necessary ones) that make it more comprehensive. It also has a higher encryption strength (RC4) than utorrent.
