Usenetserver claims 100+ days retention but I recently tried downloading a few things that were around 90 days or so old and they did not complete.

I changed to 80 days and download several things fine. Has anybody had issues with the 100+ days claimed by usenetserver?

For some groups they have a 105 day retention, for example a.b.multimedia
But for the group a.b.hdtv.x264 the retention is no more than 30-35 days I tried downloading a couple of 1080p Movies, they weren't "there" anymore. I guess the traffic is killing them...

Edit: Well now I'm downloading a file form a.b.hdtv.x264 that is 85 days old....go figure

I use Usenetserver and I do not recall ever having any problems with files that were under 100 days old, even if they were in the 90s.

    No shit?

Go back and read the fine print and see what it says.

Also give tech support a complaint and see what happens.

Though I must say, this is just one more reason to use Giganews.

I'm guessing that you went for one of the package deals where u pay for so many months in advance, in which case the retention is only 80 days. If you are paying month by month then it is 100 days.
