Thread: need advice on video card

    my current video card is 8500gt and i have a 450 watt psu. i plan on buying an 8800gt soon and i was wondering if im going to need to change out my power supply

    further...do i need to make any changes to the cooling on my system as well?

    You can't hypothetically design a cooling system, so put the bastard in there and see what happens, then deal with it.

    What kind of PSU do you have?

    I have a 8800gt + 5 hd + audigy2zs + various usb all on an antec truepower 400w

    So if you have a good brand of power supply then you should be ok.

    As for cooling clocker has hit the nail on the head.

    Do you know what your temps are now?

    What's ur CPU? How many HDDs & DVDs u have? And their brands?

    450 watt should be enough to run most setups with single gfx..
