I'm surprised this forum still allows public giveaways. It's generous, no doubt, but don't the mods worry about the fact that the criteria for most giveaways is a ratio/speedtest screenshot, which are pretty easily faked and no real reflection of the person's intent. With all the heat on BT, has there been any thought to disallowing this?

It depends on the level of responsability of the person giving away.

It's his responsability the people he invites.

Heat was and will be, that's not a reason.

people will just find alternative sources... they'll just move to another site that allows for giveaways and trading. until such a time where trackers no longer accept new members at all, there will always be people trying to get into them.

Some members are essentially good users, without giveaways lots of them cannot contribute to their favorite trackers.

why are u suprise?? its sure better than trade, also if u look some GA u will see that some member ask that u need to be active (here) so that people can see if u good or not for certain invite...if u really trust some member that need invite then u will give to him without asking speedtest or something like that..nah u cant find here faked screens at least i havent see (except something abouth FTN screen) anyway..

so if we stop GA we can simple close invite section or rename it to tradeing invite section

and so i dont agree with u at all

No, although I do think giveaways are more dangerous than trading.

That may be true, but when the user isn't aware or capable of upholding that responsibility, shouldn't it be modified? It just seems like better ground rules, at least, would make this practice safer for the sites themselves.
