    thats illegal.

Rest breaks - a break during your working day

If you're an adult worker (that is, over 18), you'll normally have the right to a 20 minute rest break if you're expected to work for more than six hours at a stretch.

A lunch or coffee break can count as your rest break. Additional breaks might be given by your contract of employment. There's no statutory right to 'smoking breaks'.

    The requirements are:

    * the break must be in one block
    * it can't be taken off one end of the working day - it must be somewhere in the middle {cheese)
    * you're allowed to spend it away from the place on your employer's premises where you work
    * your employer can say when the break must be taken, as long as it meets these conditions

I take it whenever possible, but it's best at lunchtime when everyone's out 'cos then you get some privacy.

Fuck them, if I listened to those twats i'd probably be fighting a war or doing some other cuntishness.
Not having a lunch break doesn't bother me at all.

I used to work right through and leave an hour early without even taking my break, but my boss eventually put a stop to it because she said I had to have at least half an hour for lunch under employment law. So I started taking my half hour break entitlement at lunch time and still left an hour early.

I would rather take a break than work all day. everyone needs a break benchez, i think your boss is a cunt. in every job I've had its been up to the manager/supervisor/boss to say "its break time" or "you can go for break at ...0'clock."
