Like the rest of you, I get this kind of stuff occasionally, but I hadn't seen this one before...

It only takes a minute to read this..
STROKE: Remember The 1st Three Letters....S.T.R

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally . He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

    RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR . Read and Learn!

Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S * Ask the individual to SMILE.

T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (I.e. It is sunny out today)

R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 999/911 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Ask th e person to 'stick' out his tongue..

If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other ,that is also an indication of a stroke.
"Researchers have already cast much darkness on the subject, and if they continue their investigations, we shall soon know nothing at all about it."

My grandfather lingered in the netherworld of stokeland for 2 years.

Kev, you're a mod, can you not pin it? Or at least consult someone who can?

    Fine post, worth permanence.

Did Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled peppers?
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?

    Thanks for tip j2k4
my mom had one 2 years ago. Turned out ok, since it was taken care of immediately.

A friend 28years old went out to party, he managed to pick up a hawt one night stand.
They fucked hard all night (added in order to diminish concentration loss)
In the morning she woke, he did not react, his eyes where open.
    She could have simply left....
Instead she called a few numbers on his mobile phone. We got an ambulance.
He is still unable to speak & walk properly, but he has adapted to his new way of life.

j2k4, could you post a link to the original info, just for added anti hearsay like...

    Tragic story Bazzla.
The worst thing with strokes is that they *suddenly* happen out of no where.

    boom
