    Hi all,
After using rTorrent a while, I have some unanswered questions regarding rTorrent. It's a great torrent client, but still need something to be done :

    1. My seedbox is dedicated with 64bit processor, but when I tried to add the max memories in rtorrent configuration file to 4GB it just won't go beyond 3GB, like I am in 32bit machine. Is this the limitation for rtorrent ? Or is there any other ways to make it go beyond 3GB ?

    2. Is there any other ways to speed up the hashing process ? Because after downloading 20GB, 30GB, or even the 60GB torrent makes the hashing process like went for all days, eats up the max memory usage and slow down both uploading and downloading process.

    3. Until now I haven't been able to view the total numbers of seeders/leechers in the swarm, I only can view the connected peers but not the total numbers of peers available. Is there any way to fix this ?

    thanks a lot

why are you asking here? go to the rtorrent web page.
    Guess this country:
-Child porn is legal to possess.
-Home of lolicon & enjo kosai
-Subways are littered with "Warning: Perverts lurking" signs
-Has women only subway cars because of the high sexual assault rates
-Cartoon child porn is a $6 billion industry
-90% of child porn on the internet is from this country
-Ranked equally with Cambodia and Ethiopia for prostitution

have you verified your OS is 64bit? You can run 32bit OS on 64bit hardware.. if you are running 32bit the 4gb memory limit will still be an issue.

because I think many users here also use rTorrent in their seedbox and maybe I'm gonna get my answer here

I didn't thought about it, you're right, maybe the OS is running in 32bit, but how do I check in Debian whether it's operating in 32bit or 64bit ?

not sure in debian.. you would likely need to investigate the kernel conf files to see if its built against amd64 or x86.. I would google around and see if there's an easy way to validate this..

Type "uname -a" to see if it's x86 or not

    I did that, it's written i686

    Then it's 32 bit :p

I assume you read this ? Did you define a session directory ?

To your 3rd question: Mine only show this on the peers screen
    Code:
    Peers: 74(0)
It must be the total peers in (0), but i don't know why it doesn't show up

that's exactly what I mean, I tried on all private trackers, it always shows '0', does someone ever make that numbers works ?
