Does anyone remember the tittle of this show?

I can't for the life of me remember the title of the show or the name of the main actor.
Which does not help at all.
I'd like anyones input.
The show used to air on NBC or CBS back in the 1900's.

The plot was about a man that used to get tomorrow's newspaper today brought to him by a beige cat on his doorstep. He has a day to undo the accidents that happened. Like saving the people in tragedies soon to happen. Exp: saving a person from a burning building, saving an other at a reception from a chandelier that would crush him while having supper at a table.

I know it's a long shot but if someone does remember, please any info would be appreciated.
