or the quasi-company that is Virgin, who lost all of Sky's channels after they flat out lied in adverts
Lost series 1-3 was mesmerising; I'm not so taken by season 4. Much of its charm and intrigue seems to have been lost, almost as though it's been "dumbed down" to not be too confusing for the masses who only now have cottoned on to it
maybe after the last episode of this run (ep 8) they'll start reinvigorating it with better scripts, which atm seem flawed in order to simply trick the viewer at the expense of originality.
I would disagree there. I don't think it's dumbing down in the slightest. We're just exploring new avenues. The flash-forward format is still in it's infancy and there will be plenty of great techniques to explore once the writers find their feet with that style.
There will only be 7 eps before a month long break. Upon it's return in April, we'll get another 6 eps. Due to the strike, they had projected just 8 eps, with the 8th being a headfuck finale type thing. Once the strike was called off, however, they thought the 7th ep would work better as a cliffhanger and the 8th as a headfuck mini-premiere.
