Thread: Why All The Comotion?

  1. #1
Is it just me or does the RIAA only pay attention to music. I don't support them or anything, I've just noticed nobody really pays attention to the fact that music isnt the only thing downloaded. 50-300 dollar programs are shared all the time. I hope they keep looking at music and not software.

Thats because the RIAA is record industry assosciation of america. They could give a rats ass if you download games, porn, movies. Actually they would probably prefer you do that so you would leave thier music alone lol. They only care about them. They are weak people, alienating thier own customers, and they (hopefully) will go bankrupt. Hope this clears that up for ya

Here's a link to a couple of recent articles that have popped up regarding the RIAA. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=10828

    Here's a quote:
A republican senator has demanded that the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), turn over copies of the 900 subpoenas it has issued to people allegedly copying music. MTV said that Minnesota politician Norm "Napster" Coleman, who also chairs the Senate Permanent Subcommittee of Investigations, wants copies of the subpoenas by the 14th of August.

He is worried that the music industry has adopted a shotgun approach to the problem of music piracy and may end up taking innocent people to court who may have been victims of circumstance.

As well as wanting the details of the subpoenas, Norm who confesses to having used Napster himself, though he may not have inhaled seems a bit worried the courts won't be able to cope with the flood of law actions that might follow.

The RIAA said it will be happy to provide Norm with details of the subpoenas. In a statement, it said that it will show its enforcement programme, which it describes as a "multi pronged" approach, is an "appropriate and measured" response to copyright infringement.

I really don't know...I guess they just really don't care. Most of game company's sales comes from thier console games. Even some are copyed for consoles, its very rare and hard to do sometimes. They only really loose money on the pc games since they can be easy ripped. I imagine they will soon start taking action if things get worse. Who knows, enjoy this free game orgy why you still can

    be back in few days

Well it is said that the MPAA (motion picture association of america) is waiting to see what happens with the RIAA. And there is no SEAA (Software egineer asociation of America)
Although I would not be suprised
