Never had the problems you experienced and I use this client for a while now.
You know, if you have so many problems with uT maybe you should post them in their forums:

    http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=29330

They try constantly to improve their application and they always are willing to help users who post in their forums.
    Live long and prosper.

Once it does, all hell breaks loose: sometimes data of torrents get screwed, sometimes the .torrent files get deleted from the Application Data directory and sometime other crap happens. A good friend of mine which is a very experienced torrenter was banned from two trackers for HnR after utorrent 1.7.7 decided spontaneously to delete all the data of his torrents, and decided to downgrade to 1.6.1.

I just spent about an hour manually re-uploading the .torrent files and fixing announce URLs to fix similar problems.
My conclusion is simple: utorrent 1.7.7 is crap, downgrade to 1.6.1 if you can.

There, just needed to rant a little. All better now.
    Yep it's shit.
    Now go away.

The location of the trash is the same, however the missing files were not there.

uTorrent 1.7.7 runs fine for me. No issues so far, and I've used it for pretty long time.

Hell yes. utorrent 1.7.7. already crashed on me three times today. I miss utorrent 1.6.1.

hmm no probs with 1.7.7, but 1.6.1 apparently can't be a proper tracker, i seems it's the cheater ultimate friend, so most trackers disabled it I guess
