PowerDVD 4.0 came as OEM on my PC almost a year ago and it hasn't failed me yet v5.0, which just came out, takes it even better.

I haven't tried WinDVD, but as PowerDVD has been great to me I'd recommend it. Just make sure you have a relatively fast (near 1Ghz or higher) computer.

To play a dvd, are you talking about RAM or processor? I guess after typing this you must mean Processor right 1ghz, not 1GB of Ram to play a DVD

Keen sense of observation & reasoning

Thanks for pointing that out. It's now been changed.

I've tried both players. WinDVD came installed on my computer. Since then I've downloaded PowerDVD and uninstalled WINDVD. I find both the audio and video quality to be much better with PowerDVD. WinDVD sucks.

i got both latest win and power dvd and much prefer powerdvd, dunno if its actually better but nicer to use, opens much quicker than windvd and never freezes like windvd does sometimes when playing a downloaded film.
