or how do i limit hash fails ?

Hash fails occur when the data isn't trasferred properly. When packets are lost somewhere in the pipes, the checksums won't match. These packets will have to be resent, hence the "wasted data". You can't do anything about this exept maybe get a connection with better routing .

i was downloading a bluray movie from hdbits and i had nearly 5gb of wasted data

Use an IP Filter file in order to weed out those companies that purposely (and probably illegally) polute torrents with bogus data...
