Thread: Transfering files from Dedibox seedbox

  1. #1
I have a ovh seedbox that has Windows Server 2003 web edition on it and i have a home computer that has Windows XP. I was wondering if some on can tell me what the fastest way to transfer files bak to my home pc would be. Considering i have windows on both the seedbox and my home pc, was interested if there is a better or faster way than ftp.

Some people say hosting your own torrent tracker and creating a .torrent works best, but I haven't tried it myself.

FWIW, I'm waiting on FTP files now (still, I've already seeded to 3+ so why get fussy about waiting now?).

i had crummy speeds using SFTP which is FTP through an SSH tunnel .. i setup ProFTPD and am now using TLS but the most important thing is to require TLS only on the control channel and not the data channel this way the box isn't overloaded encrypting your bullshit data files...

    FTP would probably work fine.
Here's a guide that our forum member 'fatcat' wrote about how transfer files using FTP.

I think #3 means to create a .torrent file and then upload it on a public tracker like TPB. Who would make their own tracker just for transferring files to the home PC?!? Anyway, FTP should get you max speeds anyway if you set it up right.
