    I installed the Vista before it worked fine and later uninstalled...

    Now tried to install again in my computer with 2SATA harddrives and one IDE drive...

    ASUS P5WD2-E- Premium... It installs fine from XP and when it restarts it does not load any screen... after 4 steps... checking for updates restart... not starting at all...

    Any specific reason.. blank screen...

    could you explain you situation in more details ?
    Was it second OS (dual boot) on your HDDs or you installed it as first OS or did you do an upgrade ?
    In which partition did you install Vista C: or different ?

    I did installed the Vista as dual boot.. I have installed the XP in primary drive of one of the IDE drive...

    Currently I tried to install the Vista on another harddrive(logical) one...

    Moreover it is fresh installation or new installation not the upgrade...

    I suggest you:

    1. Empty the logical drive where are you planning to install vista
    2. Boot from windows xp cd to recovery console (hopefully you have Windows XP Pro not home)
    3. then do -->
    a) fixboot - agree with everything (yes yes and etc.)
    b) fixmbr - agree with everything (yes yes and etc.)
    4. then try to install Vista to your emptied logical drive.

    I hope it will help you.
    Good luck.
