The choice is up to you. But if your running xp and you want to try it out........briefly.

Just set a system restore point and test a couple of movies on it and if you dont like the way it performs then just restore your computer back to the way it was.

This is provided you test it out for a couple of hours or a day at the most. System restore can be a pain in the ass if you try to restore your box back to the way you had it a week or two ago.

i personally think its the best one yet..
ive uninstalled quick time 6, bs player divx player and windvd 5 ...as wm9 plays all the formats

why clutter ya comp wif all those programs when one will do all the jobs

i tried it and had lots of problems with my music and movie files like there was big conflicts. I went to the microsoft site to find help and there was a lot of other people with similar problems. But My mate has it and i've used it and its all good.

The reason why there is no uninstall option cos they want everyone more up-to-date -cant remember where i read it

Windows Media Player 9 is really good in my opinion. However, I liked the version that came with Windows XP (version 8) but I don't think you can download and install that version from their website. (i think it only comes with Windows XP) I would NOT go back to the 7 Series... it was bad... Stick with the 9 Series
