I'm not sure I would agree with that but I would say that we seem to be a larger subject than, say the UK when topics arise involving "western world" subject matter. That could just be due to our size, our influence (good or bad), or in the case of this auto-ped incident, it just seemed to be who the comment was directed at due to the location of the original story matter.

I don't discount UK(ians? ) folks or Canadians when I think of the western world. I usually don't envision South America though. Regardless of their location on the globe, they hardly live the same lifestyle.

Anyone can make spurious claims but if you're the only one in support of them and the rest of the world doesn't have a clue what you're on about you should probably accept that you have a warped definition of reality.

However, that aside, the video is shocking. The driver that hit him is a disgrace. I can appreciate people didn't want to move him but ordinarily one would expect a little more moral support than that.
