multiple hard drive question,

When reformatting and reinstalling windows, does it erase the files on my 2nd hard drive?

no, unless you accidentally delete the second partition with windows xp's formatting tool.

BE SURE you know which partion you're dealing with BEFORE you format.

just unplug the second one if you want to be extra cautious

No it wont erase..it will show u the partations of all the hard disk which has u conected.so there u can select the 1st hard disk partation.but u have be care full the hard disk need to formet it has to be in master and another as slave.So that time it will comes as C:,so u can select whic u want to formet
