Thread: Hosts File

  1. #31
:beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug: UPDATE :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug:
The file is @ 62K+ with 1.8MB file size.

Thanks Paul, I know 0.0.0.0 works, but will it work in combination of 127.0.0.1 in the same file?

edexter is the program, the best in the world, add it to your start up and blocks all ads by replacing them with a transparent image.
I downloaded the hosts file there and used it but I have a big problem with it. Ever since I put it in there I cannot use aim correctly. Like aim starts but when I click on a name, it freezes and cpu usage goes to 100%. So does anyone know where these entries are in there that I can remove to stop this from happening because I use aim and browse the interent quite often.

Start by looking at the 21 addresses found in that file. Search for "aol.com". Frankly I DIDN'T, DON'T and would never WOULD use any of AOL services. MANY OF THERE SERVICES ARE AD DERIVED. Good luck.

Here's a link that you can use for how to resolve it: http://www.msnusers.com/vb5lnhjc71oosjmldi...cuments/AOL.jpg

Well, actually I just use deadaim and aim patcher and it makes aim hella tight. You can remove any ad, buddy list transparency, tabbed windows(thank you lord), and sign off/on/go away, come back from away notifications and other various things. Then aim patcher just changes the colors for the aim buddy list windows and stuff.

If you want deadiam go to www.jdennis.com, then find a key gen on kazaa.
