go for the southern europe, it's so easy to find your dreamplace there.

remember: french and spanish people don't speak any other language besides theirs.
portuguese, italian, german, dutch, most eastern europe countries, slavian countries, at all of them it's very easy to find english speaking people.

Make sure you carry your gun in Madchester, use it in Paris, drink lots of strong beer in Belgium and smoke lots of strong drugs and use lots of dirty women in Amsterdam.

London, best place in the world, make sure you spend plenty of time there.

how about keeping a blog with daily photos to keep all your friends updated at once, saving on personal emails and phonecalls. this way you also have a journal to go through when you get back and miss being abroad.
