Thread: Mark Bad Mp3's By Riaa

  1. #1
I had downloaded A LOT of mp3's prior to kazaa 2.4.2 and now know that a great deal of them have been "spoofed" or screwed with by the RIAA.

I want to know if there's any program or utility i can use to analyze a bunch of mp3's in a directory and mark them as bad files so I can delete them... and prevent from sharing them.

    Thanks

The problem is I've already downloaded the songs and don't want to play through 250 mp3's to find which are bad.

Any little program exist to detect just the bad ones?

    hmmm...
    Facetious sarcasm...

I thought the reason why computers and software exist is to eliminate the drudgeries in life...

Anybody else have suggestions for such a utility.

Open a "spoofed" mp3 in text pad and look at how the same lines repeat thousands of times. Only "spoofed" mp3's have this characteristic.

Would it be difficult to write a program to look for these repeating lines and mark the file as screwed up?

Due to the lack of source code, features like a "Ghost Rating System", such as included with Shareaza, cannot be included. With this efficient system, you can easily identify which files are fake and which are valid.
