What is meant by an indexing service and does it only index content from one usenet provider?

an indexing service pulls all of the files out of usenet into an nzb file so it is much easier to view and download (specially for newbies). An indexing site should contain all of the content from all different channels, however not every usenet provider will allow you to download from all of them. Did you get a paid subscription to usenet (ex giganews, newsdemon, etc)? if you did they should provide everything but if you are using your ISP then you probably wont have any retention or any files really. So give us some more info on the indexing site you are using and your provider and we can go from there

    Hi

I did some research. I use shaw internet. The usenet service they provides is from highwinds/easynews.

I have tried downloading a group of files through NZB using grabit. However, some rar files are noticeably smaller and when I open winrar it says unexpected end of file.

    Please help!

learn what your news providers retention is (example: some providers have a 100 day retention ,which mean u cant download a 101 day old file)

Also in quickpar files the value after the '+' sign tels you the number of blocks it has.

    For eg.

    vol00+01.par2 represents 1 block
    vol07+08.par2 = 8 blocks
