So I'm from Portugal and here the things aren't cheap and don't serve my purpose to well..

Just for a month, to learn, to explore.. u know.
But I don't know if I am doing the right thing, I even don't know how to configure it nor what SO should I choose from this ones:

If you are new you can try to follow NaQ's Complete Setup Guide for Linux Seedboxes (Fedora Core/CentOS/Debian/Ubuntu)
Its a sticky in the seedbox section.

When it comes to selecting a OS it doesn't matter for your situation. Just flip a coin.

Well ubuntu desktop most closely resembles Windows but you do not get to know the ins and outs of linux using it.
I am currently using ubuntu and love it. There is also a lot more guides for ubuntu.
