i would do what was advised before and make subfolders, that way all the files/photos are not being held in ram til you go to open them. it might take ya a while but it will speed things up, and hey at least it will be easier to find a particular photo if you say have themed folders ie dogs, sheep, girls on dogs etc etc
i have a lot more than that l think like 7gig worth of picks and my folder does take a bit to load up too but not that long maybe 5 to 8 seconds or so but what do you expect?? you sir need mor RAM RAM RAM
