I get 'decent' speed and i don't think i got a router and definetly not a firewall...
got 40kb/s while downloading an app.
Going to try downloading a game tomorrow with a ton of seeds, hopefully ill get up to 70kb/s ( atleast ) B)
it sucks as a firewall, but your still behind a firewallOriginally posted by noname12@7 September 2003 - 23:07
I read the FAQ at first it seemed to work like 10 kb/s even though on kazaa i get 70kb/s, i was happy to leave it at that but now its back to 6 - 7
and i'm not behind a firewall just that stupid XP one
http://btfaq.com/serve/cache/25.html
as much as ppl grip about reading your faq, I think you should read a good bt faq
http://www.btfaq.com
http://home.quicknet.nl/qn/prive/romeria/b...orrentsites.htm
the slow speeds are because of the type and age of the torrent your downloading..say for instance a new movie is released, you'll see heaps of people..ive seen 150+ people sharing the one file at once, getting some un-real speeds
but should like 50 give speeds higher then 7 i will turn off the firewall and give it a try, eh i have no enemies anyway
I didn't tell you to turn off your firewall, just configer it
I even gave you a link with insturctions on how to configer xp's pos firewall
should turn off xp's ang get a real firewall like zonealarm, zygate, or outpost
you can import the bad ip list from pg also
lol i know you didnt tell me to, i'm just a very lazy person who doesnt do anything unless he absolutly has to do it i doubt MS firewall does much anyway other then slow things down so i thought it better to turn it off, plus i read the FAQ, just made more sence to turn it off
Thanks for the help because i did solve a different problem through the FAQ that had to do with the speed.
Just got to get used to my laziness, if theres an easier way to anything, i will do it
If your uploads are maxing out, then most definitly your downloads will suffer. Netlimiter is a good solultion. The BT experimental client may work for some as well http://ei.kefro.st/projects/btclient/. Although the easiest solution for me has been to use Shareaza as my BT client, just gor to settings and choose there. Also simplifies shareing across other networks. Download Shareaza.
