30 years after the first movie came out and i still like me sum star trek and this one looks REALLY promising. i had my doubts when i first heard about this, but after watching the 2nd trailer it looks nothing but damn good. this being the 11th movie they've made says a lot about the franchise. not really diggin' the way G.L. is going with Star Wars so i'm hoping this cums out good.

I saw the trailer elsewhere but thanks for putting it here nails so I could comment.

I frankly hated it and I hope the movie is nothing like that.Too much quick editing and a bit of overemphasis on special effects.
Star Trek is/should be about relationship and storyline.

That said I definitely feel the series could stand a re-imaging(that tiresome word) .Less whiny-more existential. Back to what made the original so much fun.

While I've had periods of fandom for the franchise, at the moment I'm pretty blasé about the whole thing as there's generally been more bad than good.

    i agree.

but on a different note i hope this will be a fresh "restart" of the series. in showing how they all cum 2gether may open it up for a refreshing storyline and newer ways to broaden its horizons. sure, ST has never been about its special effects, but where has all the blue alien fucking gone to?

let's just hope we are both right/wrong and this turns out to be a new beginning for the final frontier in space.

A Stars ship captain's main duty.
Closely followed by shortening the lifespan of red-shirted security types of course.

I must admit to being completely ambivalent about this film...or the whole franchise for that matter.
I thought the original series was incredibly cheesy and didn't pay much attention while it ran.
The Next Generation was far more engaging and had much higher quality boobage.
The other iterations were OK but never "appointment TV" for me.

I'm sure I'll see this film- but probably not in a theater.

I really don't care if it's more like Star Trek or like Star Wars as long as I enjoy it. I enjoyed the trailer and the reviews I've read were all good.

    I found this funny: http://www.theonion.com/content/vide...star_trek_film
I'm back. The downside is that I'm also old now.
