right guys next problem. I now have Direct CD refusing to go. When I boot up I get a warning window on my task bar saying that windows had detected drives that were harmful to windows and so it had disabled them. this happens to be Direct Cd from the ECDC bundle, why hasn't it gone with the others? So i have looked on the Roxio site and came across a reference where they talk about going into the Registry (scary). Is there another way or is it the only way to go?

Just a guess. If you fiddled about 1st & didn't follow my suggstion to reinstall 1st. Reinstall for real. Reboot a couple times. Then uninstall.

Thanks Zapjb, just to let you know I had fiddled trying to uninstal it with the windows prog before you had made your suggestion. Anyway it worked. ta.
Now i still need a burner prog and all the ECDC dl's have been failures anb the NTI CD Maker DL wont recognise my drive, is it easy to get a WORKING Nero 5 dl and easy to instal?
