everyone seems to have missed one of the most important things to stay secure do you want a clue.
windows update
that and common sense such as:
dont open email attachments from strangers
only download from trusted sources
strong passwords
use up to date software
dont run services you do not need
you put all of them together with a decent firewall ,antivirus and you are one very hard target on the internet.
i downloaded the w32.welchia.worm from WINDOWS UPDATE!!! the first day i got this computer while gettting msn messenger.

Why not just set your brother up on his own user account without Admin. priveleges?
He can press buttons to his heart's content and not be able to change/reconfigure/add/delete.

Maybe dumb question but, there is a Spy Sweeper on www.webroot.com (not free) and there is a Spy Sweeper on www. spysweeper.com (free). Which one do you mean???Originally posted by clocker@10 September 2003 - 02:21
I would get rid of Ad-Aware and SpyBot and replace with SpySweeper.
Also, add WinPatrol.

I got SpySweeper(full) off K-Lite.
