The newest utorrent is 1.9 alpha build 13582. Be sure your client is not banned at bmtv.
    Live long and prosper.

Azureus 3.1.1.0 & 4.0.0.2 are banned more than ample time was given to allow for upgrades to take place.
Use uTorrent 1.8.1 stable, & read that

    Low ports 0 - 1023
    Direct Connect 411 - 413
    Kazaa 1214 eDonkey 4662
    Gnutella 6346 - 6347
    BitTorrent 6881 - 6999

In order to use our tracker you must configure your client to use any port range that does not contain those ports (a range within the region 49152 through 65535 is preferable, cf. IANA). Notice that some clients, like Azureus 2.0.7.0 or higher, use a single port for all torrents, while most others use one port per open torrent. The size of the range you choose should take this into account (best-practice ranges are typically less than 10 ports wide). There is no benefit whatsoever in choosing a wide range, and there are possible security implications.

Maybe it's because you have limited number of torrents you can run simultaneously?

There's a limit on how many torrents you can have as active (up and down) .. and any torrent exceeding that amount will appear 'red'.. I think

If you have a router, you can check your MAC adress by logging in on it and checking which computers are connected to it (the adress to a router is usally 192.168.0.1).

hi guys thanks for the advice i just reinstalled utorrents and it started working again and i found out all this headache was my own fault. Since i had issues with utorrents earlier i think while i was messing about on my pc i accidently installed utorrent 1.8 again on here. So i have just reinstalled 1.8.1 and everything is working fine.

once again appreciated the help, and the only reason i did not figure out this easy fix earlier because i was so certain that i had utorrent 1.8.1 running and had not realised i put it back to an older version.

It is not on your end. I get that sometimes during times of heavy usage on the site. They have a horrible hardwre setup and refuse to upgrade their server. This causes massive slow down during high traffic times and can even affect the tracker causing everything to turn red and unconnectable
