    ...in my head.

I'm going to be mashing together some new parts next week, and I'm wanting to triple-boot (XP32, XP64, and V.U.64) in a RAID 0 setup, if Clocker can talk me through it.

I'm wondering if I'll need AV and FW for each, or will one of each be enough?

I'm having a mental block here...

Yes, each OS needs a separate security package.

    Why the multiple boot setup?

I don't want to not be able to use any of the stuff I currently use.

I may be missing something, however, given I am not as well-versed as the rest of you wizards.

I am once again a total noob.

    Hey, there's another thread...

Waste of time, energy and space.
At most, run XP32 and Vista x64 (even that is overkill, IMO).

What apps are you concerned about?

I'll take your recommendation as to which OSs.

    What apps?

Not sure just yet, but I have to assume I'll be doing stuff with this machine I haven't done before.

    One shudders to imagine.

Honestly Kev, I'd just run one OS till you find a compelling reason to add a second.

    Well, then.

Perhaps now would be the opportune time to rough this out.

I am inclined to go 64-bit in any case.

Certain lacks in Vista may or may not be addressed by doing this, I have no idea.

Seems this might be a good time for a superficial recounting of the case for 64-bit, relative to software compatibility and drivers.

    Important:

I can find most of the drivers I need, but have no facility whatsoever for finding those I wasn't even aware of, if you know what I mean.

My M.O. has always included a high degree of redundancy, and while I have this in the strictest sense (the other three PCs), sometimes I can't be fussed to move my ass to another venue.

As a side issue, post holiday weight-loss will be addressed anon.

Most 64 bit I tried for for vain reasons , Hey look my computer reads 4gb of memory but looks and runs no faster or won't support that program or game I use . Yikes I'm going back to XP .

In hind site most buddies ask me what are you using Peat ? Windows XP 32 bit and keep in mind I have access like you, to any bloody one I want . You can't test over a weekend I'v tried .

J Any drivers you may need we can alll get them for you Shirley. If I may recommend Vista Eternity 2009 X64. I'm currently using it and it's well put together. If not going the vista route There is a XP Black X64 coming out soon as rumor would have it
