AdBlock... If you still have the ads, just use your own filter...

If u have a fast connection, with free bandwidth, then don't block ads.. coz, I feel like its kinda indirect donation, If u are browsing from a damn slow connection, then block it.

    Matter of preference

They generally annoy me. I like a simple design without of any of that shit. But this is life.

I hate ads, hence why we do not have any, and they dont bring as much in as people seem to think.

OK something like TPB or mininova will make a small fortune off them, but for a private tracker its negligable just how much they bring in.

When we tried them, i was getting about $3 a day with 50,000 members, by the 2nd month that was down to $1 a day just because most blocked them.

so to me they are not worth it, and they are just bloody ugly on a site.

Agreed. I doubt random advertising on a private torrent site would be lucrative at all. Pay per click or pay per impression ads work best, of course, on a site which gets a lot of unique visits per day; this most likely will not happen on a private site. If any advertising should be done at all, it should be commission/affiliate type advertising, with maybe one banner for something relevant, such as discount DVDs or modchips for game trackers, seedbox/servers for 0day trackers, etc.
