Checking Availability Before Download

Hi, i remember a while ago that there used to be a program into which you'd load your nzb and your server details and would check whether all the files you wanted were available on your server so you wouldnt have to download a huge file and find out it was unrecoverable. I was wondering if anything like this is available now either for PC or OS X as i have been getting quite a few problems with completion on astraweb when files are over 145 days old (despite retention being 160). Otherwise the service is fantastic!
