This has got to depend on when you were born. Being born in 1970 myself, the 80s were when I was right in to music (undortunately), however I now either listen to music from the 70s, or current stuff - any good Rock music will do.
as i am in my 3rd decade i would have to say the 80'srule
For me it would have to be the 60's but a sneak of the 70's in there too.
The brought us Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Deep purple, Pink Floyd, John Lennon and Bob Dylan.
I'm not saying I like all of them (but I do like most) but they have been extremely influential artists for the future decades, so I feel this is the best decade for music.

60's was the most influencial decade for music, while the 70's took what guys did then and created some of the best music ever.
