Thread: Horrible speeds: what's best way to send files to someone?

  1. #1
Just took a speed test: 750kb down, 150kb up.

That said, what's the easiest way for me to share/send a 290,000kb file with someone?

WASTE works well for this purpose, but I guess it isn't really the easiest way to do it.

I believe the best way to send that file is via Bit Torrent. Pando is also an option, I've heard alot good about it but have never got to try it myself.

Burning it to a cd and mailing it could also be a good option

If you have access to an FTP that is usually fastest. Also, you may want to try AIM's file transfer feature or ICQ.

Why not upload to a free upload service such as Mediafire?

if by 150kb you mean that your upload speed is 150kb/sec then it is easy. Make a torrent. Send it to your friend to download it directly from you. at exactly 150kb/sec it would take 32 minutes.

    The Calculations:-

    290000/150= 1933.333333 seconds
    =1933.333333/60
    =32.22222 minutes
it should take approx 32 minutes for anyone to download that file from you.

You could also look into Vipeers for private sharing
