    8 bits = 1 Byte
    so:

    20 mbits = 2.5 mbytes
    5 mbits = 0.625 mbyte

yea, I have the same 20/5

I set my speeds around 2mb down and 520kb up. FIOS is great though because it's consistent no matter how many people are using the internet. Your line is independent.

show us a speedtest. I used to have the same problem with my cable connection. It might be the slow PC which is causing it. I remember in my laptop i would get twice the speed that i would get in my old pc.

If you are on XP try this http://www.verizon.net/optimizesettings/

It significantly increased my speed but I have a 20/20 line

Better than the best package my ISP has to offer if talking about download-upload speeds. How much is Fios monthly, if i may ask? The package mentioned in this thread.

definitely could be down to dodgy wiring in your house, also try plugging your router into the master socket in the house if it already is not, when i plug mine into it, it dramatically increases my speeds.

Also another thing is, i do not get the full speeds i could get from my package because my house is to far from the telephone exchange.
