Download and scan with the Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool, then get SuperAntiSpyware (SAS) and install, update & scan with that, too.
One they've finished finding anything nasty, go into SAS config, select the Repairs tab and perform all the repairs it offers.
Spybot Search & Destroy is also good at detecting and correcting malicious system settings.
These are free and they all work so there's no excuse.
