Thread: seedhost.net - is anyone else getting annoyed with them?

  1. #31
Wow, five days. I'm glad mine hasn't been down that long. But I only signed up last weekend and have had about as much downtime as uptime for my box. What I don't get is that the server doesn't seem to be completely offline as I plugged the hostname into this website: http://www.opendns.com/support/cache/ and every single cache returns the same (and apparently) valid ip address. I would think that if the server was offline then it wouldn't show up at all. But I'm not a networking guru and could be totally wrong in this case. But I would be very interested to see if anyone else with a seedhost box sees the same type of result I did.

jelipesp, let me know how the Paypal dispute goes as i may have to take that route myself. But I remember reading on here somewhere that someone goes denied a refund by Paypal because the seedbox was considered a "virtual" item and there was no way to prove delivery of the service.

well, yah it is a "virtual" item...

although you can prove that the item is not delivery bt taking screen shots of failed attempts to acces the server either through FTP, VNC or Web UI. despite the fact that the service it self is "virtual", the machine where it's located is phisical and hence you can't access it you cannot get your "virtual" item.

I don't think I'll see my 12 Euro back, but it's the principle that counts - not the loss of 12 Euro!

My server is down as well. Their loss, my bill is due tomorrow and since I haven't heard anything and still can't access my server, my business will be taken elsewhere. No point in paying 88euro for shotty support.

Seems there must be a major issue if this many people are having the same problem at the same time. Good luck running a decent business with this type of support, I know many people (from many sites) who use resellers and I will for sure be telling them to go elsewhere.

I believe that there is a major issue behind this all lol.

but like others said no matter what the hell happened leaving customers without answers for days is amazingly stupid for your own bussiness.

I my self, ordered a dedicated server from KeyWeb, i'll build my own Torrent Box there, let's see what goes on hehehe

Is there a major issue, or is it just sheer coincidence that so many people suddenly have gotten problems accessing their seedboxes, etc. etc. etc. ---- makes you wonder, doesn't it.

    Well...
Only major thing hapenning latelly that could be slightly involved with is the law France parliament passed nearly 2 weeks ago.

besides i don't recall any building explosion, bombings or anything like it that could've disrupted networking services around the region

I think I need to file a Paypal dispute as well before it gets too late. How are you others describing the problem when filling the form out? I guess we also need to hope that the person/people behind seehost have money in their account or we will never get a refund of any kind.

Well, i believe the other side having money or not is their(paypal) problem , not ours. i believe if we are entitled the money Paypal will refund it regardless

I basically just explained that I didn't get the service I paid in advance for, as well as no correspondence via logged tickets nor email. I included the ticket numbers to paypal. Good luck!

Please keep us posted as to what's going on!
