Hi, I'm trying out usenet now and I like it. atm I use a free server with bad speeds and retention or what it's called. I only get about 500KB/s.

But I have 100/100 and if I am going to buy an acc on a proper usenet provider which one is my way to go? I wanna max my 100 mbit. Is there any provider that offers speeds like that? and I would like good retention too.

And i dont want it to cost above 30$ a month...

    Help me please ^^

There are quite a few usenet providers that offer very good service and can probably max out your connection. GigaNews, NewsHosting, Astraweb are a few

I'd say Astraweb would be the number 1 choice at the moment. I believe its retention is currently at approximately 206 days and its rising to 270 days

If you decide to go with them signup through this link: http://www.news.astraweb.com/specials/kleverig-11.html
Its a special plan they currently have going, only $11/month. There are no download or speed limits, free SSL and both US/EU servers

Damn, that's almost perfect timing for me, I was gonna sign up in 5 days anyway. Thanks for the link! Buh-bye GigaNews!
Not sure what that file's gonna do? Check it with ANUBIS - Analyzing Unknown Binaries
Is that site DOWN FOR EVERYONE OR JUST ME?

Yeah, Astraweb is pretty much the number one provider right now. I've been with them for months now and never had any problems. And they answered all my questions very promptly, so their support is great.

You cannot beat that retention for that price.

Astraweb. Check to see if your ISP offers a Usenet service.

Even if your ISP did offer service I highly doubt it would be as complete a paid for Astraweb/Giganews type account will be.

True. I'm on a capped plan and I can only download however much my quota is, but it's free .

I have 100 mbit too. If you wanna max it out, it will cost you.

Best choice is to go for Astraweb twice. Buy the 11$ two times and you get 40 connections which should be plenty to keep the download at a constant 10 MB/s ++.
    I myself have only 1 Astraweb account and I usually get 8-9 MB/s, ranging from 7-11 MB/s.
