What do you do in prison?

I'm wondering how a typical inmate would spend his day...do they get assigned jobs? or just spend all their time in their cell? can they bring in entertainment like laptops or tv's? (I know they can read or listen to music) I'm sure they get a social room and have a few hours a day in there and lunch... but im more wondering if they actually spend most of their time in the cell or doign assinged tasks...

I ask this because I'm watching role models, and was thinking, hmm whats worse, a month in county, or having to babysit kids 40 hours a week. I'm sure prison is worse, but I don't know since I aint no gansta.

Well it depends on what prison, what you did, what class of inmate you are. The variables determine if you get a job or not and how much time out of your cell you get.
