Thread: Swat 3 Installation

  1. #1
I used to have this game but lost it. I downloaded it and looked at the readme to install.

I don't understand what they mean by LFN.

I have WinRar and WinZip on my system.

If I unrar/zip every one of the compressed files, it would take over 8 hours according to the time on WinRar to extract everything.

Here is the install instructions. Note I have never done this before.

    INSTALL:
Unzip, unrar to decompress the LFN's (using unrar.exe or WinRAR), import
SWAT3.REG into your registry, then run SWAT.EXE to play the game.

Have you tried unzipping the first file with winrar, doing so could extract the whole file.

    It came as an exe.

Then when you click on it, it extracts files. There are many compressed files included.

Well what i usually do with those self extracting files is rename them to .rar then extract, if you can put the installation note up maybe it will provide more info for others to help

With self-extracting archives I usually just right-click and select open with winrar.
Don't see the benefit of renaming to rar

callum true maybe easier, I just prefer renaming them, makes like simpler in the long run.

Well I already posted the install instructions.

    LFN means nothing to me.

This is more trouble than it's worth.

I renamed the exe to rar.
I extracted to the drive, and it just has the same files as if I had executed the exe file.

There are a bunch of M-SWAT3.R3x files and a bunch of M-SWAT3.Rxx files that are marked with the WinRar icon.
One file extracted specifically says M-SWAT3.RAR.

There is also a WS_FTP.LOG file
