How can someone compress mp3 files?

convert to a lower bitrate (e.g. 192k to 128k)
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>BLAH</span>
<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Wayne Rooney - A thug and a thief</span>
not to the same effect, noOriginally posted by thatsomekid@22 September 2003 - 11:45
ok this might sound dumb but could i do this with winrar?
compressing with winrar will take off such a small amount as to be negligible in the real world

Aren't mp3 files small enough? Hell, you can stick a bunch of 'em right in your pockets.

If u really want to compress em then just make them into .ogg files it will compress a 100mb cd into 30-40 mb
mp3 pro i hear you say what the fuck well i just read about it its says it can deliver higher qualtity sound in smaller files eg 5mb mp3 = 2mb mp3pro
to encode use musicmatch jukebox 8
