I have a DVD Burner on my PC but my DVD player doesn't play SVCD. What type of movie do i d/l so that i can burn it as a DVD without re-encoding evrything from SVCD to DVD.

Is a DVDRip a DVD that has been put on the internet. Is that what i am looking for.

I'm just confused becoz sumtimes it says, DVDRip.SVCD- so is it DVD or SVCD???

chek here for what your dvd player can play
    DVD Compatibility list

then you know where to start
    svcd is the best quailty
kvcd is near are better than svcd
    vcd is vhs quailty
dvdscr pre relese copy for screening
dvd rip is a retail dvd copy

you need to convert your downloaded movie to mpeg
tmpgenc is the best then cce
then you need nero to burn you disc
    are similer burning app

thanks but i know wot my DVD Player can play and it cant play SVCD's. I thought DVDRip is better quality than SVCD, especially if i have to convert the SVCD to DVD-SVCD.
I know wot to do with a d/l'ed video but i am asking if u can d/l a DVD format/quality straight from the internet.

You will have to excuse much2pl2 because he didn't understand your question, but what u mean is that your DVD player doesn't play SVCD so what do u need it's not a DVD-Rip because this is just the movie ripped off of a cd and is most times released in .avi which needs to be encoded which is no good for u. What u want is a DVD-R which is the full DVD copied onto a burnable DVD u have a burner so u should know what I am talking about and to download one just go to suprnova.org and go to movies then DVD-R section. But to use suprnova u need a program named bittorrent (if u didn't already know this). As for DVD-Rip u can just watch those on the computer but as far as the DVD player I don't know.

    Link for Bittorrent:

    Bittorrent

    EDIT: Download Bittorrent 3.2.1

I don't know. Can DVD-R support vcd but it doesn't really matter if your DVD player doesn't support it.
