    Control Panel>Folder Options>View>"remember each folder's view options"

    After you set a folder to "details" once, it will stay that way.

    First off set it how you want every folder.
    Then go to Tools->Folder Options
    The click the view tab. Their you should see a button called Apply to all folders.
    Press that and hopefully all folders will be set with the same settings the one that is currently active.
