Invites still disabled. Your friend is either lying or he was invited by a member of staff.
edit: or may be I'm mistaken and invites are enabled again because a new user did sign up yesterday. could be invited by a staffer though.

You try and download any blu-rays which aren't recently uploaded. So many older torrents have no seeds at Bit-HDTV, it's a joke.
But with HDBits, you can download, at usually ridiculously high speeds, old torrents including huge blu-ray images.
HDBits has no real competition, it's in a league of it's own.
