Thread: Pc Keeps Going Off!

    rite well here we go

    my pc usually runs fine. but when i use apache web server, sumtimes my pc will just restart on it own. not shut down, just simply restart. and when it comes back on, will say xp has recorved from a serious error. this dont happen when im not running the web server, just when i am.

    im running

    Windows XP Home Edition
    amd 1.4ghz
    128mb ram
    20gb hd
    Freeserve 512K Broadband
    pc is abt a year old, and usually dont have any problems.

    any suggestions?

    i'm not an expert boss but with xp you 256MB of ram just for the xp itself to run good

    yeh i 4t u needed 256mb ram for xp 2 run well 2!

    128DDR is far too low alone, is it standard ram too? if so id think about an upgrade mate

    128mb ram be the problem. but my pc runs reallly fast. well faster than most pc's ive used.

    rams not 2 expensive, just get sum more! ive got 1gb of it!

    Turn off the automatic restart on system failure feature.

    Click: Start>Control Panel>System>Advanced tab>Startup and Recovery settings> Remove the checkmark from [ ] Automatically restart and click ok.

    Now instead of restarting you will get an error message. You can then diagnose the problem with that error message.

    thanx for your help 1 more question...if a system failer happens now. will it crash the system or?

    Yes, the system will crash and you most likely will get a 'Blue Screen of Death' type error message.
