I have had a 7 Mb/s connection for some time now and regularly get speeds of 800+ kB/s. That is just fine as it is right in line with what my connection speed is.

Just now I did a speed test and got this:

Now, unless I'm mistaken that is a lot faster connection as it is now showing I have a 14 Mb/s connection. Right? I'm still only getting the same 800+ kB/s in my news client though.

It's not the speedtest site as I checked two different sites.

If I got upgraded, my client should be downloading at an increased speed though.

Reset you clients settings and reset them...or do you have "a certain speed set" or set to unlimted?

Alt.Binz has a maximum speed setting but I always leave it as the default, which is zero, or unlimited.

I've even tried setting it to 999999 though just to see what happened and it's still the same.

Alright, grab something off a download site like:

    http://fileforum.betanews.com/

Just grab something decently big and see what speeds you get, through whatever browser you use.

Maybe it's a speed boost feature kicking in like on comcast?
See ya in another life, brother.
