I know perfect disk doesnt do a boot/startup defrag very well..
Use Diskeeper for that function. Makes windows load faster alot of times..

Xp......But actually, whatever the specific problem was it seems I somehow managed to fix it. I've been working on it for a few hours, including software reinstallations, a complete drive revert, twice! ....and several restarts. Still not sure what happened but I suspect it was a registry problem. I just need to defrag again and I have a lot of logs to go through.

I'd like to thank God, my baby's momma, the academy, (you like me, you really like me&#33, and everyone who replied for their love and support!

No, I now see it's not. I'm also going to give diskeeper a try. Found 8.0 on eMule.

coo
yea, i'm starting to like Diskeeper more.
Makes my comp run very fast after a defrag.. perfect disk's smart placement doesnt really speed things up.. and it tends to skip some fragments. Diskeeper gets 100% all fragments.

I thought diskeeper took over the defrager that was built into windows ??? I have been using perfect disk and havent had any problems.

Good I'm not the only one who uses PerfectDisk. lol. I think a couple things are happening for people who can't get PD to work on their sys. One imo they're using inferior reg editing progs. And or two some progs are conflicting w/PD.
