    A few years back, i would have agreed with you. But now I don't think they can compete with Intel.

    Intel's core i7 chips are so fast and cheap it's no comparison.

    I have to agree. Intel is wooping AMD, the i7's are still quite expensive at the moment, but there are a lot of good i7 cpu combo + mobo deals right now that it offsets that fact.

    I think it depends on your intended use.

    If you are wanting a top end system, then Intel is best value for money and has the highest performance.

    On the other hand if you just want a system for internet, email and maybe a few simple business applications then the entry level systems with AMD processors seem to give comparable performance to their Intel counterparts for (a little) less money.

    There used to be a competition with AMD vs Intel, but since the 06' days Intel has been kicking ass!

    I think the Core i7 results speak for themselves

    I agree with the posts, Core i7 is a fast and a bit expensive, yet.

    But for others just a cheap AMD PC might do it.
