I'm having problems with performing dcc tasks on mIRC on my D-link DSL 504 modem. I suppose i'm behind a router and i definitely have turned off all firewalls.

basically, i can't download from irc channels with xdcc or fserve downloads, whatever it is.

I have already tried all methods, like redirecting ports to 3000 to 3010, making sure the settings in the mIRC options are correct.

    I did type something like "/msg name01 send #3".

then i would either enter a queue or take up a free slot.

when i do take up a free slot, i keep getting an error like "DCC Send from name1 (filename.tar, file type ignored)"

i'm absolutely certain i have added most filetypes to the folders option but the download just wont start.

i've tried almost everything to dcc on such irc download servers but they just don't work.

if anyone could kindly help me.

i was using this guide before, and it don't seem to work:

If your router allows it, try setting up a DMZ to the pc you are trying this out on. If it still doesn't work, the problem is unlikely to be related to the router.

If that's the case, I would suggest you get this moved to "Other Related P2P Program Discussions".
